1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies include local storage and session storage. We use them sparingly and never for third party advertising.
2. Strictly necessary
These are required for the service to work and cannot be switched off.
- Session cookie: keeps you signed in. Expires after 14 days or when you log out.
- Second factor cookies: a short lived sign in challenge (5 minutes) while you enter an authenticator code, and the confirmation that the second factor was completed for the session.
- Device cookie: a random identifier that lets us recognize a new device and warn you about sign ins you might not have made. Kept for 400 days.
- Age confirmation cookie: remembers for 12 months that a visitor confirmed being 18 or older in front of age restricted content.
- Security tokens: protect forms against cross site request forgery and detect abusive traffic.
- Payment provider cookies set during checkout to prevent fraud.
3. Functional
Remember preferences such as collapsed sections, the last tab you viewed and whether you dismissed a notice. Stored in your browser only and never sent to our servers.
4. Analytics
If analytics are enabled on a deployment, they are configured to aggregate usage without cross site tracking and to honor the browser's privacy signals. We do not use advertising cookies or sell browsing data.
5. Your controls
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the session cookie will sign you out and prevent login. Where consent is required by law, a notice is shown on first visit and your choice is remembered for 12 months.
